Belmont Rose Granite was founded in 1995 by Carole Proud. Initially brought in to help the former owner market the granite, Carole fell in love – first with the beauty of the stone, and then with the idea that something truly Canadian and unique could find a place in the world. Carole bought the quarry and has spent more than a decade making Belmont Rose a respected international name.

Carole Proud started with no operational experience in quarrying or mining, but she did bring a long career of corporate and marketing experience with her. The next few years were a challenge, they were ones during which Belmont Rose and Carole Proud changed the way granite is quarried, marketed and sold in Canada and the U.S. By working with her clients and suppliers, Carole was able to create unique partnerships supplying equipment, products and ideas throughout the entire supply chain. From quarry to finished product Belmont Rose has become a name brand that signifies the unique value that Carole and her team add to every transaction.

From the earliest days Belmont Rose was committed to being ‘green’. Early agreements with government ministries to protect the water and natural habitats that surround the quarry, to contracts with forestry management companies to preserve the landscape, Belmont Rose makes it a point to minimize the impact of their quarry on the environment.

In just over ten years, Belmont Rose has established itself as the supplier of choice in the memorialization market, and is becoming more and more prominent in the monumental, construction, landscaping, architecture and pre-cast markets.
